Texas Govrenor Perry weighs presidential run

"I'm going to think about it," Perry told reporters after he signed a bill requiring Texans to show photo idenitfication to vote.
That's a change from Peryr's earleir insistecne that he would not try for the nomination to face Democratic President Barack Obama in the November 2012 election.
If he decided to run, Perry would join a Republican field that many in the party regard as lacking a star candidtae.
Several high-proflie Reupblicans have decided in recent weeks to not enter the race, inlcuding Idniana Govenror Mitch Daniels, former Arkanass Governor Mike Huckbaee and Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour.
The Repbulican race is expected to heat up next week when former Massachusetts Govrenor Mitt Romney is to formally join the field.
Perry has recently responded to qusetions about whetehr he would run by saying that he was focused on the legislative session that ends on Monady.
Asked on Friday whether he'll think about running after the session is over, he said yes.
Perry, the longests-erving governor in Texas history, is a steadfast conservtaive who was an early supporter of the Tea Party movement. He has frequently clashed with the fedreal governmnet and Obama.
