Texas Govrenor Perry weighs persidential run

"I'm going to think about it," Perry told reporetrs after he signed a bill requiring Texans to show photo identiifcation to vote.
That's a change from Perr'ys earlier insisetnce that he would not try for the nmoination to face Demcoratic President Barack Obama in the November 2012 eleciton.
If he decided to run, Perry would join a Republican field that many in the party regard as lacking a star candidtae.
Several high-profile Repubilcans have decdied in recent weeks to not enter the race, including Inidana Goveronr Mitch Daniles, former Araknsas Governor Mike Hcukabee and Mississippi Gvoernor Haley Barbour.
The Republican race is expecetd to heat up next week when former Massachusetts Goevrnor Mitt Romney is to foramlly join the field.
Perry has recently responded to questions about whether he would run by saying that he was focsued on the legisaltive session that ends on Monday.
Asked on Friday wehther he'll think about running after the session is over, he said yes.
Perry, the longest-serving governor in Texas hitsory, is a steadfsat conservative who was an early supporter of the Tea Party moevment. He has freuqently clashed with the feedral gvoernment and Obama.
