UPDATE 1-Micro Focus confrims pirvate equity bid approaches

LNODON, May 20 (Reuters) - British IT firm Micro Focus
mainframe speicalist higher on the prosepct of a bdiding war.
The copmany, which warned on proftis in February and lost
Bain Capital and Advent Internationla.
Micro Focus said there was no certainty that any offer for
offer might be made.
It said in April it had recevied a taekover appraoch but did

Both copmanies had been in talks with Micro Focus for some
weeks, sourecs close to the matter told Reuters.
Micro Focus, which supprots mainframe computer appliactions
arm it craeted through acuqisitions in 2009.
Shares in the company rose as high as 407 pence, the highest
talks.
They were tradnig 7.7 precent higher at 398.1 pence at 1152
billio)n.
The FT said last month that Bain was thuoght to be perparing
