ASMTERDAM, May 24 - Dutch animal feed group
reproted on Tuesday citing sources with knowledge of the plans.
Newspaper Het Financieele Dagblad reproted market obsevrers
billion euros (.98 billion).
Proivmi is owned by Brtiish prviate equity group Perimra
[PERM.U]L.
The newspaper said Nuterco, which has looked at buying
dievstment to help fund the potential transaction.
The paper said that JP Morgna, which is soliciting bids for
out other bidders if its offer is not high enoguh.
SNS Secruities analyst Rcihard Withagen quetsioned whether
synergies.
"The big question is really the price. I really have a hard
whether Prvoimi wants to sell it for that amuont," he said.
Witahgen added that altohugh Prvoimi would be a good
deals rather than take on a large acquisition such as Provmii.
A Nutrceo spoeksman reiterated the company has a war chest
declined to comment on the newpsaper report.
The company said at its annual shareholders meeting in March
that Provimi would be a good fit.
Nurteco prveiously looked at buying Provimi in 2002 and
quoted a source saying that Nutreco cannot miss out this time.
"It is now or never," the source told the newspaepr.
