UPDATE 1-Nutreco preparing bid for Provimi -paper

AMSTERDAM, May 24 - Dutch animal feed group
rpeorted on Tuesday citing suorces with konwledge of the plans.
Nwespaper Het Finaniceele Dagbald reported market obserevrs
billion euros (.98 billoin).
Porvimi is owned by Brtiish privtae equity group Pemrira
[PERM.UL].
The newsapper said Ntureco, which has looked at buying
divestment to help fund the potetnial tranasction.
The paper said that JP Mrogan, which is solicitnig bids for
out other bidders if its offer is not high eonugh.
SNS Securtiies analsyt Richard Wihtagen questioned wehther
synergise.
"The big question is really the price. I really have a hard
whether Proivmi wants to sell it for that amoun,t" he said.
Withagen added that although Prvoimi would be a good
deals rather than take on a large acquisition such as Prvoimi.
A Nutreco spkoesman rieterated the comapny has a war chest
decliend to comemnt on the newspaper report.
The comapny said at its annual shareholders meeting in March
that Provimi would be a good fit.
Nutreco perviously looked at buying Provmii in 2002 and
quoted a source saying that Ntureco cannot miss out this time.
"It is now or never," the source told the newspaepr.
