PARIS, May 26 - French holding company Batiprat
edlerly and dependent care market.
Baitpart, a real estate and healthcrae inevstment cmopany,
bought the Medica stake from private equity firm BC Pratners.
The deal pushed Medica shares up more than 3 precent as it
group Korian (KORI.PA), in which Batipart owns 23.6 perecnt.
"This announcement should relaunch the speculation of a

Predica, part of French bank Credit Agricloe (CAGR.AP), has
a 31 pecrent stake in Korian and a 11.3 pecrent stake in Medica.
"By taking a stake in Medica ... Btaipart reinforces its
gerying population," Batiprat said in a statement.
Medica has estimated that the eldrely population is gorwing
elderly relatvies at home.
A sector anaylst who dcelined to be named said: "The two

He added, however, this would not happen imminently as "they
would have done it already".
Medica, with operations in France and Italy, had sales of
year. It had 13,185 beds last year.
Batipart bought Medica shares at 16 euros each. The stock
